The Little Mermaid continues! Part 5 of 8 is here! When my 2nd full length film "Hercules" didn't do very well with views and comments, I cancelled my plans to make my 3rd full length movie, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, in January 2011. I thought that my videos weren't as good as they could be and Hercules was long and dragged on forever. So I took a 5 month break from Stop-Motion and worked on my first hand drawn animation video "World of Color". In those 5 months, Hercules and my first movie, The Lion King got over 600,000 together. I knew it was time for another movie! One thing I liked about the Lion King was that I could work with the Movie and the Broadway show, something I didn't get to do with Hercules. So I choose a movie from the 4 Disney Broadway shows I have seen. Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King (already did it), Mary Poppins and The Little Mermaid. The Little Mermaid was my top choice. I quickly began planning and designing for the movie in early 2011. And now it's finally here! I hope you all enjoy The Little Mermaid- in 8 parts over the summer months! Part 5 will be out August 13th!

  • Well done Ryan.. Do you have to movie playing in the background for reference when your shooting these? or do you just go by remembrance of it? I don't recall if we talked about this before or not.. Loved the part at 5:05 when she was swimming up out of the water, nice effects. Lovin' the fog juice also LOL!

  • @MoviesMusicNature 1/2 Thanks Chris! Nope! I haven't watched the movie in over a year. I try not to do it exactly like the movie, but similar. So I try not to watch it and think of my own ideas. I also get some ideas from remembering what I saw in the Broadway show and I have watched some youtube clips of that too. The 5:05 part didn't come out exactly how I wanted it to, but I am glad you like it! I used a spotlight with a sheet over a piece of cardboard and hung her with fishing line in front.

  • @MoviesMusicNature 2/2 Thanks so much for watching and commenting! :)
