A group of musicians from other bands like: Bonnie Raitt, Etta James, Sha Na Na, Nicolette Larson, Jack Mack and the Heart Attack and more, formed this band. In 1981-82 we were 3 crazed high school girls over Jocko(and my crush on Bruce MacPherson) we followed them everywhere. Even here, to the 1982 Easter Seals Telethon where they performed "Cool, Calm and Collected".

  • I spent the early part of the 80's working in LA as a roadie. Worked almost every gig R&RR did those days. Looks to be missing BIllie and Sam from Lil Feat and Ernie Balls son(I cant remember his name damn it was 30 years ago. Gene Vano gotta be standin off stage. Great seein and hearin the guys again.

  • @rngrhuff Gene was the manager &sam played in the horn section, right? (sax?) Who's Billie? I think I remember a black guy that played those congo(?) drums w/them sometimes, is that him? Maybe when they played at that bar up at the top of Topanga Canyon. Man, trying to drum up memories from that long ago is hard! 30 years? shhhesh!

  • I did publicity for the group for many years. This was a holiday weekend telethon appearance, so a number of the "regulars" (for that period) were away (the band had several changes in line-up over the years). BRIAN, not "billie" is the blond guitarist (he played for many years with Etta James). Sam was indeed missing that day, but Sherwood Ball IS there, he is the dark haired guitarist. The original "horny section" was from Tower of Power, sax player David Woodford was away that weekend.

  • @jadealone Gene Vano was the manager from lil feat days. Sam Clayton was the black conga player with lil feat and Jimmy Buffet. Billie was lil feat-piano and organ. The horns were Johnny Carsons horn section. Ive seen the trombone player on a few videos doin mud and jelly wrestling announcer. I was there that nite on tobanga-one of my last gigs with the guys. My wife was shitfaced and dipped Jocko. Left in 83 to return to Ga and raise kids. I was the big burly guy on stage haulin all their shit

  • Wow, look how young Jocko was. Cute!!!

  • LOL! I was crushing on Jocko then too!
