Darlene Ahuna Concert on Mother's Day 2009 at El Camino College, Torrance, CA. It was a wonderful day to spend Mother's Day dancing hula with my daughter, Nani, (to my right) and my haumana. The hula we are dancing is called Ka Uluwehi O Ke Kai (The plants of the sea --the seaweed "lipoa"). This mele was written by Auntie Edith Kanaka`ole and it is a much loved hula song by halau. The hula choreography was created by my Kumu, Kawaikapuokalani Hewett (love your hula Kumu). Darlene Ahuna has such a beautiful voice! Our friend Daniel Ho also performed that day. Nice day to share hula and aloha! Enjoy!
