A song composed by the late Dutch musician Henrik Takkenberg about a special city in Spain. Performed acoustically on an Ovation 1769 Custom Legend guitar.

---
Somewhere along the belt
Somewhere along the fibre of this world
In your narrow hallways
And crumbling towers

I held you
But you led me... but you led me

In the morning crimson
I love to see you wake up (wake up...)
In the velvet night
I can hear you breathing history

I held you
But you led me... but you led me

Toledo... Toledo
How imperial you can be
When it was only men who made you that way
The creation that lasted
Is slowly falling
Before my very eyes (my eyes)

  • Love it! I'm from Toledo but nowt i'm living in another place...I miss Toledo so much...thank you for this lovely song.

  • @egbp1e - Thanks go to Henrik Takkenberg, who wrote it. His brother Frederik still lives in Toledo. I was there a long time ago; indeed, it is a beautiful city. Ciao!

  • I'm really surprised. I just was looking here for a custom legend 1869 'cause i bought one (20 years old - 1988) last saturday.

This is a great great performance, nice played and nice sung as well.

Congrats for that and your great instrument. Best wishes from switzerland :-)

  • Thank you Steve, and congrats on your new (old) O!

  • Stylistic preference I guess... I certainly know how to palm mute, but on this song I let the chords ring. Played this one in a band about 20 years ago, and the memory is partly what drives my solo rendition of it now. Thank for the comment.
