there are two dissimilar metals the out side of the usb, and the gold pins (unless its mostly plastic and just gold.)

That awkward moment when mythbusters failed at something I'm sure thousands of other people tried who arn't ''professionals'' and it worked and mythbusters couldn't even do it.

first of all he didn't use the right onion or amount of water.

I did however power a calculator with a lemon. (using zinc and copper)
You'd probably need 100 lemons to power an IPod. Onions... who knows how many.
