Leslie Phillips starred in this gentle Rediffusion sit-com about the Reverend of a small village in the south of England. In this episode 'The Facts of Life' a little girl announces that she's about to have a baby. Leslie Phillips left this show and was eventually replaced by Donald Sinden. Sadly, nearly all of these episodes have been wiped, but just for a few minutes, let's go back to 1963. If you want to see more, get in touch or leave a comment.

  • You know, that's a nice idea and it just might work ;-) It beggars belief that they still haven't done anything about it though.

  • Glad you've enjoyed it. I'll see what else I can dig up.

  • Das ist fantastisch Fernsehen, die Menschen in Deutschland, würde gerne sehen, dieses Dankeschön

  • This is delightful! I've never seen or heard of this series before (I'm an American). Thanks for posting!

  • @Glassgirl2009. Every week I go through the Radio Times and highlight programmes to record for the coming week. When one does that it is realised the number of repeats of the dross and rubbish which is offered by every channel. I highlight less every week. There are 6 this week!!

I never watch anything live, what a waste of one's life. I have never seen Simon Cowell and don't want to. Isn't that a "humiliation" programme?

  • @bbcisrubbish ITV are in financial trouble because they only understand 3 words, which are: Soap, Virtual & Reality. Plus they rely far too much on programmes like X-Factor, Britains Got Talent and anything else Simon Cowell suggests because they think he is good, when really he is complete rubbish and spends most of his time talking straight out of his backside!!!!!

  • When will Leslie Phillips receive his long-overdue Knighthood.

  • How nice to hear clear, well spoken English again.

I am forever reading how ITV are in financial trouble.

Big sums of money and big names in TV management are banded about.

Have they ever thought of broadcasting something people would like to watch?

  • Wasn't he dropped from the series because he married someone divorced or something?

It was something absurd. The television company acted as though he were a real vicar and the reputation of the church depended on him.

  • Thanks for this much appreciated... I have just bought the leslie philips autobiography hello. I am forever amazed at the classics i randomly find here on the tube, cheers.

  • Just ..wow! Good work, Retunerman.
