Let's Play Metroid II - Part 1 - Beginnings

Here we go, the first part of my Metroid II playthrough. The goal of this playthrough is to get 100% items (sorta, more on that later) and beat the thing with a respectable time.. hopefully under two hours. But who knows.

I had some issues with audio desynch in this, so there are a few times where it will go silent for a second or two. This is because I used an audio extraction program to get an mp3 of the whole video, and then using WMM, I added the visuals and the sounds separately and tried to fix it up when it got bad. There's still some spots where it's not perfect, but it's good enough.

For the next segment, I might be using Hypercam. I'm going to see if that's any better at keeping a steady audio feed. But I'm loyal to Camstudio, so I might not switch after all. Shortening the clips might help too.

I've always loved Metroid II... my favourite Metroid game. Also, was recently informed that you mentioned Planet Zebeth here, which is how I came to find out about Let's Play. Methinks I'm going to be spending the next while watching these... I'm quite enjoying these videos.

Just keep in mind that these are among my oldest videos and I'm quite awkward in a lot of them, because I wasn't really used to doing it or comfortable with speaking with an audience yet. So... yeah.

There's a fun bug in this game, if you turn into the Morph(ing) Ball, and roll right off of the edge of something, exit Morph(ing) Ball mode mid-air and you can jump while you're still in the air, not sure if it's just my Emulator (bgb) that does it, or if the actual game does it.

I had this game as a kid. Played it for many years. This takes me back to 1992 when I was 8 years old. I always liked the song at the first stage as well. Very catchy.
