Ballarat is located in Victoria, Australia. Ballarat is also the area where the Eureka Rebellion happened on December 3rd. 1854 due to the gold mining at the time. As a result the Southern Cross Flag was also born then. Gold is still mined to this day in Ballarat. Some of these photos are old, but make it more memorable. Mind you, the image of the Goldfields Corner Store made me so angry. Like most of the corner stores in East Ballarat it was bought by a Chinese couple and the first thing they did was scrape the iconic Coke signs off the windows. The shop ended up going under because they priced themselves out of the market. I remember going there with my Dad every Mother's Day to get flowers for my Mum. :D
