WOW! Better than the original! And this is coming from a girl who absolutely HATES covers! Normally, anyway. I'll make an exception for you, my dear lady!

I like to use this song with music students -- compare to Thomas Morley, "What If My Mistress Now" (1601): "Herself she will untie, and yet fast bound am I ..." Same sentiment, same strophic song form, similar instrumentation (voice/lute/viola da gamba = voice/guitar/bass). There is almost certainly an actual, historical link between Elizabethan lute songs and American "country" music, via Appalachian folk & Bluegrass. Snobs who look down their nose at the latter are truly the uncultured ones.
