Everyone deserves to know what Islam truly is, rather than some of the tainted images/news they see and hear in a lot of media. This Ramadhan 2008, support us as we plan to put 1000 Ads on Islam, on 1000 NYC Subway cars, for 4 straight weeks. The goal of these Ads is to correct some of the misunderstandings about Islam. The monthly ridership on the NYC Subway is over 140 Million. It is time that people learn Islam from the right source, the Muslims. They Deserve To Know.

You are not arguing with the historical scholars you refer to, you are arguing with me! You say I am just giving my half-baked opinion... well isn't that the purpose of this forum, to exchange ideas? Intelligent people form opinions from scholarly sources. My ultimate authority is the Quran itself. Scholars help clarify, but this verse seems fairly clear to me personally.
