A Qishuyan built DF8B pilotes a Ziyang built DF8B from Jingpeng to Shangdian on the Jitong line in Inner Mongolia. Obviously, the DF8B's are not the only noisy beasts in the valley, the big grasshoppers are chirping rather enthusiastically too... ;-) (Near Erdi, Inner Mongolia, China, 05/07/2009)
Thanks! ;-) Well, I found out that it's best to visit this West side of the Jingpeng Pass before noon. The sun is in the best position then, and you can count on about one train per hour here. After noon, there was often a "gap" of about three hours in Eastbound traffic, but then it's better on the East side anyway, since the sun is in a better position on that side then, and the amount of Westbound trains usually seems considerably higher in the afternoon... All in all you're never bored... ;-)
Welcome back, and again a truly fascinating and total experience of the anticipation, the event, and the return to normality...Master of the trade, thanks very much...5* Bob
Excellent video 5* - Superb photogenic location; how many trains would pass this spot in a day? - Mike
