I been trying to do it to Judo guys with little success but worked quite well in BJJ. You are right it just depends on skill but im not in the level of grip fighting some of those Judo guys it but worked well in in gi and no gi Bjj,its kinda sneaky.

awesome, I love the Darce. I usually only get the Darce on the ground tho since my Take downs kinda suck at the moment as I am too stiff haha, I hope I will have my blue belt by end summer or fall if I keep training hard.

one thing, off of habit: In the gator roll I usually start off pushing them towards their free arm to set them up fighting towards the direction im going to take them in. Its really effective against a bigger stronger opponent.
The only good defense against the gator roll is to sit through immediately . Thanks for the video

@mikey4u1984 I think it depends on everybodys skill level and setups. It also helps in the case of your comment to have a judo background, then you could gain a perspective of how they rationalize movement and practice a setup for the gator roll.I agree that there are in addition to the gator roll some difficult upperbody resistances from a skillful judoka player.

as a white belt in BJJ I have taken advantage of blue belts with this move, one of the cases where wrestling gives you an advantage

@bootypicture Agreed1i even see high level blackbelts taken down by great wrestling, because of their confidence of transitioning to a reversal or submission on the ground. This attitude can used by a less skilled BJJ practitioner with a great wrestling takedown that ends in submission.

@bootypicture ps- i mean because of this attitude,a less skilled BJJ practioner with better wrestling skills can sometimes surprise and catch a higher belt.
