EARTHQUAKE IN JAPAN AS IT STARTED!!!! I was traveling from Shirakawa to Tokyo via the JR system. While stopped at Utsunomiya station, I started to shoot video across the tracks hoping to catch an express train going through at full speed. Suddenly the train starts to shake - then thing I know I'm experiencing my first - and hopefully last - earthquake. While I am back home in the USA, my thoughts and prayers are with the wonderful people of Japan...

  • you know ironically, stopped in a bullet train at the station was probably the safest place for you I would think.

  • @lilkittychan 100% agreed. The JR lost 4 trains off the tracks and one that was taken out by the tsunami that was not recovered according to their website.

  • where were you then when the tsunami struck?

  • @tattooedsean777 starting traveling by taxi towards Tokyo. It took over 14hours to make it there and a $680 bill. lol. I would have paid $6K for the ride!

  • Did the earthquake feel signifiantly different from the bumps you get while riding on a train in this country (USA)?

  • @StevenShields29 I don't ride trains often so I can't really compare. I sure hope not though!

  • This is, to my opinion one of the scariest video's besides the 'earthquake - Mori tower from 52nd floor' video.... the completely out of this world sound that such a thing like this produces... Even listening this on my headphones with their volume upped just doesn't do it justice...

  • I got very lucky on the timing of taking the video! Things could have been much worse.

  • As it nears the 1 year mark, I still remember how the earthquake was the scariest moment of my life.

  • Trying to decide which is worse, this shit or the Tornados I went through in April last year...... Both are pretty damn bad.... And both are the worst in recorded history....

  • You really have to admire the Japanese for their orderliness in situations like this, and their building codes (provided you overlook the fact that they don't insulate their houses)

  • @lilkittychan yeah its safe there

  • @freedomwv I will never forget that day too. I was shopping with my wife at a supermarket at Ueno, I thought the ground was gonna tear apart cause I could see ground waving in front of me...

  • @Kylemccormick1 the likeliness of that happening is very very slim though especially stopped at a train station :/

  • @lilkittychan Uh. Not really. If the ground under the train collapsed, it could end up being more dangerous than normal.

  • I will never forget that day as long as I live. I was working at Kamata, Tokyo. Right in the middle of an English lesson I was teaching the quake hit.

  • sounded like someone got sick during that quake

  • Sounded like seth rogan! :)
