  • royisdancing,I'm sorry for the confusion you made by referring this melody as "Sârbeaskă",! It is a west Romanian native music, better known as "bănăţeană" because it originated in Banat ( western side of Romania)

And it has nothing to do with Gypsy music !

The American international folk dance community has to work harder in order to learn about origins of music they are trying to dance!

  • Sârbeaskă, is a Romanian term for dances that have a Serbian feel to them. The name is from the Romanian Dance Master who taught them to us. The Gypsy mention is from the name of the event were we taught a number of nations dances. Sorry that the dance camp's name makes everyone crazy, we have changed it to Dance in the Woods because of this,

  • @royisdancing Sorry for the inconvenience,I didn't mean to offend you and your work at all, just tried to make things just,(I hope !)

From a.p.o.v. I see you are a succesfull dancer and I admire your work .

  • No offence taken. I am just a little tried of people telling me to learn more about their culture. when the thing they are objecting to is part of their tradition folk dance culture. I also have some resentment that because of people prejudges and willful misunderstanding I have to revise history and to go through my video posts and change the name of an event to one that does not make them crazy. Sorry to unload on you.

  • It's ok ! I can support more!!!

Anyway, when you got into this, you should imagine such things could appear, especially when you deal with different cultures from this particular side of Europe, where things are really mixed up and not easy to understand !

  • I started this thinking I would have an audience of American and Western European Folk Dancers. Who would of thought that the majority of my viewers would be Romanians

  • e romaneasca

  • @iovaioramadrian la minutul 2 incepe o sarbeasca clara ca vaca in luminii lunii. samo-tako e melodia originala, cantata de milos bojanic si copiata de o "artista populara" de la noi...

  • Well,Romanians are quite very active persons and like to be well-informed .......!

  • For the rest,I can say that it is nice to see people from abroad trying hard to dance my people's national dances !

    i wished I was there!
