Thanks for the video, one thing you forgot to show, does it only write in the 'expanded' position?

How does the actual pen engage?

@joshstube  The writing tip isn't exposed unless the pen is expanded. The pen engages as you expand the pen. You can slowly expand the pen and you will see the tip slowly emerges and can be used for writing before having to expand the pen to it's fully open position. However, I don't see any advantage for doing this however. I just expand it fully every time I use it.

@LOLgerasim -- Thanks for watching. I love the pen too. I've been carrying it everday since I bought it. Very comfortable to carry, looks and feels great. I'm becoming a Zebra fan. I'll have to take a look at the m-301 pencil that you recommended.

I have had this pen for several months already. A few observations:

1) This pen is made of bronze, a material with excelent durability, corrosion resistance and heavy. It is a very traditional material, having been used for decades in the making of fountin pens. However paint or whatever finish Zebra is using does not last for long. It can be very easily scratched.

2) The ribbed grip with its all metal construction is a bit too hard for my tastes and I find it uncomfortable after some pages.

I recently bought one and had no idea how to access the refills until seeing your video so thanks for that although the first time I unscrewed the barrel I literally had to use pliers!

Anyway, I wanted to ask great pen and all but does the tapping/rattle sound during writing annoy you much? I find mine makes too much noise while writing.

True Utility TelePen you can get it on ebay for $8.86 Free shipping it goes on your key ring you never know its there it writes great to. Just tap (True Utility TelePen) and it come up. its 2 inch closed and real thin its on you tub to.

I discovered the Zebra Telescopic first. A friend showed me his Expandz and I had to get one. I've been carrying the Pilot Dr. Grip Center of Gravity for years and loved the way it performed. These Zebra pens look classier and are compact. Dr. Grip though is more comfortable on the hand. So, I'll be carrying 3 pens with me until I decide on 1... or 2.
