Yep! That's part of it. Also, the balladeer sings about half the show, and i didn't want to pin that on one person. And I never liked that there was a balladeer AND a proprietor, both omniscient, so I thought it would make more sense if there was like a Greek chorus type of thing. Also, there's a big ensemble that only comes in for two songs, so I just had the balladeers do the ensemble stuff instead of casting another 6 people to barely be in the show. I think it's more cohesive this way.

I think it's because there are about three times as many guy roles than girl roles, so they tried to even it out? I could be wrong but that's my guess.

Good lord that woman has had no vocal training, or just has a terrible voice. Not a single moment of vibrato. She's good at singing on pitch, and would work well in some choral groups, but she is not nearly good enough to perform well as a soloist. I stopped watching just because I didn't want to hear her sing anymore.

I dont get why you had a girl double up with a guy on the balladeer part?....the guy has a better voice
