  • So are going to purchase the new 2010 version of Splatterhouse? Is the still Splatterhouse or has it evolved too much into something else?

  • @Khimeran77

Plan is to do a GotGame Review in Dec.

  • decided to post them on youtube, huh?

  • Yeah but it is an Insane amount of work to make parts. Because of doing this Rabbids review has been delayed till Tomorrow or Sunday and Chrono Trigger is moved to next Friday night. I said this would be a lot of work for me, I was right =P

  • @snake2006 dude I love the whole series, even the newer version... yes the 2nd one had all of what you mentioned better weapons/more gore etc. Yeah the ending was more statisfying because you save Jennifer. Initially I was let down by #1's ending but the more I thought about it, it's more tragic and horrifying that Rick couldn't save her thus adding to the classic horror "let down" endings... but you make good points as well...

  • @moviemetalhead

There is nothing wrong with Splatterhouse 2, I like it allot more than the first game.

It added so much more, unique weapons a more satisfying ending, more gore like the exploding stomach and eyeballs, the heart that explodes and covers the screen in red. It added more storyline to the series, especially the Japanese version since it explains more than the butchered US translation.

  • @MustyMarkus1

It's the same mask. The reason for the change is to not get sued by Paramount who owned the Friday the 13th license at the time. (btw it's now owned by New Line Cinema now, who made the last 4 movies)

The Splatterhouse 3 version is the official version now since that is the one used for the last Splatterhouse game.

  • @xboxlivegb

    Don't.

The new Splatterhouse game is good, I love it to death.

But the emulation of the original 3 games are VERY,VERY BAD.

The arcade Splatterhouse 1 runs slower than it should

Splatterhouse 2 and 3 are slowed right down, and the audio is very, very poorly emulated.

Your just better off emulating them on your computer. Not that Namco cares, they showed that when they wouldn't advertise the new Splatterhouse and pretty much fired everyone involved.

  • this is definitely Namco's homage to friday the 13th which is BAD ASS... as hard as the first one once was, once you get the hang of it you can beat... freakin classic the first game to give me nightmares...

  • @snake2006 but you gotta love that the first one is an arcade port and not the crappy genesis port...

  • what about s.h. 3 is it on the wii

  • @Khimeran77

I know, but I wish there wasn't a cliffhanger for a ending. It just ends abruptly which is fine if there was a Splatterhouse 2 for sure coming but I doubt there will be another. Splatterhouse isn't exactly a huge brand name, never was. But I have been a loyal fan of the series since I was in grade 3 when I first saw the comic book ad for the Turbo port of the Arcade. I still remember that vividly and then I got a taste of 2 and 3 on the Genesis and needed more.

  • @snake2006 I think the art direction is really nice! My only fear is that it might get very repeditive, but I like what I have seen, so I will buy it! Really, you have to look at the return on investment. Namco Bandai forecasted Splatterhouse would be million sellers worldwide. Namco Bandai dropped expectations to 350,000 units for Splatterhouse. I am not certain about the companies ROI, but that would determine if another Splatterhouse would be made. I'll buy the game new though.

  • @Khimeran77

Atleast if you buy it,buy it new. I really would like atleast one more Splatterhouse game. It took forever to get this one and it was worth the 15 year wait.

Sure it's not a AAA game more like a B+ game, it has some issues such as audio loss sometimes, animation is a bit jerky at times. But I have played far worse games than Splatterhouse. I enjoy the hell out of it (I am replaying it again) I don't care what reviewers said about the game.
