My entry for the Ship's Closet contest.
SUMMARY: When Jim Kirk meets Spock for the first time, he is confused by his reaction toward the Vulcan. His confusion only deepens when he feels jealousy upon seeing Spock and Uhura together. However, when he runs into Spock Prime, his questions are answered in a mind meld where he sees the relationship shared by their alternate selves, as well as Spock Prime's regret for denying the way he felt for so long. Meanwhile, Spock is having his own conflict when it comes to his growing feelings of "friendship" for Jim. Luckily, a talk with Spock Prime sets him straight and both the boys realize that the two of them working together is far better than each one trying to do it alone.
