Rhubarb's Cart Ride

Rhubarb is a very special dog that came to Best Friends at a young age with a condition that would not allow him to walk or even stand. At Best Friends we believe all animals deserve a good quality of life no matter what the condition or how short their time may be. This is Rhu in his cart going on his daily run with his caregivers and fans.

Best Friends Animal Society is a nonprofit organization building no-kill programs and partnerships that will bring about a day when there are No More Homeless Pets®. At the core of Best Friends' work is the dream that one day kindness will replace cruelty and animals will no longer be destroyed because they are unwanted or imperfect. I volunteered at Best Friends and got to meet Rhubarb and actually help with one of this daily exercises! What an experience! Rhubarb is now adopted by the wonderful folks who paid for his cart and he is living the good life! Rhu is such a sweet dog who doesn't realize that there is a problem!!!

This is amazing! I work with children with disabilities and various orthopedic impairments, and it is great to see that there are people and businesses like y'all's who are providing support to animals with similar disabilities. We have had the privilege to meet Rhubarb when we volunteered at Best Friends and I can tell you that he really enjoys all the attention and the exercise! Despite his issues this boy is full of energy and very playful. You'll be surprised when you see him play tug of war with normal dogs: he will not give up. No way!
