@MaXimus1967 What??? How on earth can removing the lens shade give you an extra stop of light? If this is the case, it simply means you are introducing 1 stop of lens flare to the exposure and there is nothing good about that.

Lens flare doesn't always mean big spots of light in the image either... it can just be a glare of light across the lens reducing clarity and contrast. You know... like when you hold your hand up to shade your eyes from the suns glare?...Same thing!

I shoot this lens on a Sony a700 all the time, in fact it hardly ever comes off. I use if for Bird n Flight and Nature in general. I can tell you the a700 its autofocus and its ability to track moving objects is fairly good and yes the IQ is a step up from the 70-300 i also had. Removing the lens shade will make at least a stop of light different when not needed ( hardly ever it controls flare well ) as well.

that made me laugh when you pressed the wrong buttong XD would you recomend this lens as an upgrade from the 70-300? because it looks quite good and seems fairly fast for a tamron anyways. thanks J.

Hi, I have the same camera Alpha 200, but Which is the function AEL button in the right of the camera??? I have never gone to a photography school or something like that so I´m just discovering funtions in my camera by my own (sorry about the english I´m from México) thanks
