Thank you to everyone who has wished Ozzy a speedy recovery! You'll see here that he's back to his old self again and recovering nicely from his infection.

On this day, I asked Patty (Ozzy's trainer) to work on a few things with him. The first was lunging him outside. I had tried this earlier in the week with him and he was... insane would only begin to describe it. But as horses will, Ozzy made a liar out of me on this day by being a good boy! Well, sort of...

The next thing I asked Patty to work on with Ozzy was going back into his stall. With all of the beautiful, green grass at On Course, Ozzy never wants to go inside! Ozzy has not given me a hard time about going in his stall since this session--THANK YOU PATTY!

The final thing Ozzy needed help with was walking down the isle where his favorite mare lives (SHE was the reason he was so bad for me earlier in the week--he ADORES her!). As you can see, he once again decided to make a liar out of me and was really more interested in the dogs today.

  • wow... you really have(had???) a great trainer to work with ozzy during this crucial time. She really put him back in line. Infection???? Anything serious? Obviously he recovered well since i've seen his recent videos :)

  • Oh Patty is awesome! She really helped us and taught me a great deal about breaking a horse. I feel really lucky to have had her to guide us.

The infection is a long story. If you want to know it, I'll privately message it to you, but we're probably going to court over it within the next month. But yes, he's fine now. :)

  • I'm glad that Ozzy is feeling better. It's great that you have Patty on board for his training. I have to say for the millionth time - he is so big and beautiful!!

p.s. - I want to see this mare that Ozzy fancies!

  • I'll get right on that! We walked past her tonight without incident, but I'll still post a picture of her! :) Let me just ask her mom if it's okay first! :)

  • There seemed to be a lot of shanking, which I can't say I'm a fan of. Still there are many ways to get to the same result.

  • The week before this he was so bad he was actually dangerous; hence, he needed a strong lesson today to remind him of his manners. (It's like he didn't realize he had his boy parts until they were gone! Haha!) He's too big to think he's in charge. Patty is really careful with Ozzy and never uses excessive force. He's been a perfect gentleman since this lesson. :)

  • Yeah i'm glad you found the right trainer for you two. The wrong tainer can really mess a horse up =[ I'd be really interested to hear about the infection if you don't mind. You can just send me a private message over youtube :) but i totally understand if you want to keep it private :D

  • Hahahaha, my most favorite still shot EVER! :)

  • Glad to see that he's doing better. It's good that he could go back into his stall now! I can only imagine how difficult that was!

  • Well in that case that is reasonable, my mistake for making assumptions. Sorry. I agree he is definitely too big to think he is in charge. It takes at least a month for the testosterone to clear their systems. Still I think he wants to come live in NZ. With me :D

  • I completaly agree. If he can do all of that he must be feeling well enough. Its a big load of the shoulders knowing that it all went well and sorted itself out now cross fingers he starts behaving again.

  • No Problem :) I have been watching lots of your videos of him and his trainning has been really BIG progrees!!!! :)
