This fabulous world folk choir from Vermont are singing in Twyholme Village Hall near Castle Douglas in Scotland. They also did an excellent workshop in the afternoon. If you like their music they often do tours throughout Britain and around the world - and also you can go on camps to learn their songs. What makes them very special is the effort they put into to singing in the style of the country's songs they are singing - as you will hear in some of the other videos.

  • amazing.

  • Brilliant - just as it should be, uplifting , volume 11

  • This is blowing me away.

  • Wow! Such an intense sound. Great to hear some raw harmony, not the usual diet of Victorian hymnody that we get so used to! This is how we were made to sing, amazing what can be achieved if you open up! I must stop being so English.

  • Wonderful sound! Enjoyed your music and the song. Thanks for posting this. I am trying to explain shape note to my aunt and am going to email this to her. She will at least like the music...I think on some of it she would just be left out. Thank you.

  • This is "Morning", a setting of Isaac Watts's words by Amos Pilsbury (1799), Sacred Harp 163t.
