  • Nice, that will do for my next netbook :)

  • To have run HD video on 350mw of power is INSANE! I think Nvidia is going to set the bar on mobile computing and low power consumption. No other mobile platform can do so much with so little.

  • @turtledogg Yes, the nVidia Tegra2-250 SoC is capable to playback and encode H.264/MPEG-4 AVC "Main Profile" only. (mpeg4 for phone cams and some hand cameras)

But on the further profiles such as High profile that used by HDTV streaming / bluray /mkv / divx hd / Flash FLV 3.0 etc. this chipset starts to struggle badly. | Rival chips such as Qualcomm Snapdragon or Samsung Exynos / Orion can crunch it much better - Even as they're single core chips | They have 0.85W TDP too.

  • @foxh8er Its drainage is related to dual core, not gpu chip

  • FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY DOES NOT WORK ON PROJECTED IMAGES. Those people will get home to find a nice collection of images of a blank projection screen in a well lit room.

  • If the Moto Olympus is $199, is on ATT, and has even half decent battery life, I am so getting it.

    (It has Tegra 2)

  • now put about 200 of these in a regular computer case, thats one sweet computer lol

  • Wow, back in the 90s' people criticized about products "Made in Taiwan." now they produce some of the world's most astounding processors and integrated chips.

  • i know i have a friend that has a laptop with an AMD turion rm60 2.0 ghz and it cannot play 720p movies smothly ...

  • My old computer couldn't even play 720p. My current laptop, even with DualCore 2.1GHz and dedicated GPU, still can't play 1080p.

While my friend's PC with an AMD ATHLON64 1.8GHz single core and shitty GPU can play 1080 without problems. Damn.

  • I dont have my old pc anymore i sold it , now i have well a kinda old pc i bought in 2004 , with an intel p4 3000 mhz cpu and it plays 720P movies gr8 , but it doesnt plays 1080p :( , and i bought a laptop ( Gateway 7809u FX ) with Intel core 2 duo P8700 2..53 ghz and it plays perfectly 1080p videos !!! :X

  • Sure your netbook can play videos well. But I'm also sure that it can't play 720p HD videos on Youtube fluently.

Tegra, as the name suggests, is an integrated GPU solution that provides hardware support for applications that might otherwise use alot of CPU power. (That's what I think...LOL)

Your old PC could play videos, and I'm very aware of that. However, can it play DVD quality videos? I don't think so.
