No Australian railroads double stack theair intermodals also.
-
God almighty how many carts did that train have?
-
Super Video Macht weiter SO !!!
-
Actually, they have bells and sounds. However, they would turn off after the gate closes .
-
are north american railroads the only ones to double stack their intermodal containers?

Year, the new German Crossings, which works automatic, have also this sensors, but there are also many old crossings, mostly in the area of the former GDR, which aren't automatic.
On this corssings you have to wait sometimes a long time :)
Search "German Bahnübergang/Railroad Crossing DDR/GDR Anlage mit RE2 Rathenow - Cottbus", that's such an old crossing :)

Danke
Americans would not tolerate waiting a minute or longer for the train to arrive.
Many crossing signals are controlled by speed sensing equipment.
If the train is approaching at 70 miles per hour, the signals will activate when the train is thousands of feet away.
If only 5 mph, the signals will activate when several hundred feet away - providing the same 25 seconds warning.
Other crossings are activated when the train enters the crossing circuit. No speed detection.

Search "Bahnübergang Lüdenscheid", there you can see the whole process.
Mostly after 15 seconds the gates begin to descend, sometimes the train arrives the crossing seconds later, sometimes you have to wait a minute or longer, that is different between the different crossings.
Best regards from Germany :)

Thank you.
No light.
Then Yellow light is on for only 2 seconds.
(The Yellow light should be on longer before the RED light illuminates.)
After how many seconds do the gates begin to descend?
Signals in the USA usually give 6 seconds from activation until the gates begin to descend.
25 seconds from activation until the train arrives at the crossing.

Before the activation the signal is "Black", there is no light. The light under red red lamp is yellow, like a traffic light. By activation the yellow light is lightening for 2 seconds, than the red light.
