This a a fantastic show of power and technique, very impressive indeed.
I'm very surprised to see any negative posts to this display, for one of the rudest my reply is this.
bananasrgd,
As you have now had an extra year or two to get your technique correct, how about a video of you doing this pattern.
I won't hold my breath in anticipation.
Reposted due to unfair spam reporting, looks like I may have upset someone, ummm, now who could that be, Bananasrgd perhaps?

well chap u have proven ur a blue stripe by saying that - this video was recorded c1985/6 during which time the ITF had only just introduced sine wave. ALL of ITF style TKD patterns were performed with hip twist due to the influence of shotokan before 1984 and to this day in the TAGB this continues as their instructors were second generation UKTA. one minor point - as a junior grade why do u think you are an expert at a pattern 3 grades above your own?

Man, some of you guys need to pull your head out of your arses and respect other peoples styles. This is the correct way to do this pattern as it was taught. It has been changed over the years. The 3 Rhee brothers who started teaching in Australia in the 60's teach these hyungs and still teach it this way. No sine wave. Who is right ? Who cares. I enjoy learning it and teaching it the way it was originally taught. As for the guy that stated No Sign Wave = No Taekwondo? WTF, Piss off dick head.

@TKDchief within every dojang we say out loud, Ye Ui / 예의 and Guk Gi / 극기. Forget the sine wave or hip twist movement, disgard first or current instructor, examine what you see and reply correctly. Now as Martial Artist's or TKD'ers, there is only thing that i believe is incorrect.
if you throw a powerful side kick at MIDDLE section as shown in the video (either leg), you opponent will not be there for a knife side strike. times have changed, some people have, others haven't.

Oh, it's so pretty it hurts.

you can see the power in his moves which is unusual in any youtube ITF video. My favoritte part might be his knife hand strike following the kick.
You can also see on his simultaneous midsection inner forearm block/ low section "block" that the low section "block" is actually a correctly performed punch (which is almost never seen done correctly on youtube)

They were led astray from the very beginning. Gen Choi didnt know what he was doin after all he only had a 1st dan! Who did he get a 5th dan from? Who he get his 6th dan from? NO ONE!!!

i am a black belt, and i dnt wanna try to learn po-eun.
almost every black belt that i train with says that its hard, and they know every form white belt up with ease.
po-eun scares me.

@CDavisukta what a typical and ignorant opinion from another 'modern martial artist'

this is the original way general choi teached
not bad for an ITF blsck belt who has been led astray by intructors who are intrested in making money from thier students and federation

As it has been stated before theese are the way Patterns were taught by Grandmaster Rhee Ki Ha BEFORE the introdction of sine wave in the eary 80's. There was no sine wave until around 1984.
