Pleasure! Good luck with it. I'll try to upload a little film of some of our fry soon. I was sad to lose this pair due to something poisonous on a plantpot I bought but there are around 60 fry from another pair split over 2 tanks at the moment and growing fast.

That's a shame. Yes, they will eat the eggs if they feel threatened - so don't move the stones or shine a torch in it for example. Also, check your water parameters for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. I lost this pair due to toxic chemicals introduced on a plant pot. But my next pair had a brood of 60 that are doing very well. I have well established stones that I use for caves now and I don't add anything new without boiling it well.

Sam, it was for you. Hopefully your comment will appear soon. I approved it straight away!

It sounds like breeding behaviour. Yes, it's okay as long as there are places for the one who's coming off worst to hide for a while. If it gets that one is actually getting hurt, you may need to seperate them, otherwise, just keep a close eye out for changes. If they're chasing off the other fish from the area, there are almost certainly eggs on their way. Fingers crossed for you!

They ate the eggs, disappointingly, but they seem to be making a new cave in the plantpot I added a few days ago.
