The first time I ever went to the Hole in the Wall was when I got hired as a painter at the University of Texas at Austin. I had lived here for about three months so far. I went in with two other painters who ordered shots and beer. It was first break at 9:30 in the morning so I had a cup of coffee. The only cup of coffee I ever drank in there. That was twenty seven years ago and I have been back many times since then. Many, many times.
I film local bands here in Austin and I have to say the Hole is one of my favorite places to film a show. Always good energy.

Your favorite bar huh?

The seascape on the walls of the building next door looks like the work of the guy who painted the Mitchell Brothers theatre, but it's probably a common theme. This is an excellent cozy bar.
