The first time I ever went to the Hole in the Wall was when I got hired as a painter at the University of Texas at Austin. I had lived here for about three months so far. I went in with two other painters who ordered shots and beer. It was first break at 9:30 in the morning so I had a cup of coffee. The only cup of coffee I ever drank in there. That was twenty seven years ago and I have been back many times since then. Many, many times.

  • I film local bands here in Austin and I have to say the Hole is one of my favorite places to film a show. Always good energy.

  • I used to stop by there between classes when I had an hour to kill. Love that Place.

  • Great bar... timeless!

    --Hook'em!

  • Your favorite bar huh?

  • The seascape on the walls of the building next door looks like the work of the guy who painted the Mitchell Brothers theatre, but it's probably a common theme. This is an excellent cozy bar.

  • Buy those girls a drink!
