Jane McGarry and Randall Carlisle anchor this KXAS (Dallas) newscast from October 1990. This is after Brad Wright was moved to noon/5pm and Alyce Caron was dumped. McGarry solo-anchored for a while until Carlise arrived from Minnesota. He soon left and was replaced by "chief correspondent" Mike Snyder.

I'm not sure about noon (Joyce Morgan?), but at 5 he was paired with new hire Cynthia Tinsley (no relation to Clarice, as the promos declared).

And about '97 or '98, Kim Adams left and was replaced by Ramona Logan (who co-anchored the Weekend newscast with Mike Snyder, who currently co-anchors with Jane McGarry at 6 and 10 PM).

Randall Carlisle is an alum of the famous (or infamous) "20-20 News" on CKLW-AM Detroit/Windsor in the late '60s and early '70s

This music was used from 1990-1992, and was composed by Stephen Arnold (who also composed the previous theme, Wall-to-Wall News, which was used from 1984-1990).

Wow. I had no idea that 5 used THAT theme music for a time. After hearing it, that was some of the best stuff from that era, and they've never had much good theme music between the Action News era and about 2000.
