@Karisigurd Thanks a lot. I've ended up ordering several of their products, I especially would not have known the iLok was absolutely mandatory. I was basically told that I would only need the diamond edition "if I was Hans Zimmer," so I went with gold. From what I've seen, everything they do seems to be worth the price and the learning of Play.

Honestly, eastwest is nuts. They and spectrasonics are my only go to for sound libraries.

Eastwest products are not the problem. The question is, can your computer handle it? Do not get hollywood strings if you only have 4 gigs of ram. You will be miserable as your usage experience will be minimal.
-
@Psypoxity Yes, there isn't a download option available. The Gold version comes on a bunch of dvd's and the diamond edition comes on a hard drive. Remember that you also need to have an iLok usb key.

damn, what for strings. great.

@Karisigurd Just to make sure, there is no way to buy this product and download it? The only way to receive it is pre-installed on a harddrive?

@Tanax13 Hollywood Strings sounds way better than eastwest symphonic orchestra.
2 questions :)
1. How come this isn't using the regular "Play interface" like MOR or Gypsy?
2. What is now included in EWQL SO that you can't get via SD2 + Hollywood Strings?
Thanks for the demo!

@Tanax13
1. I'm not sure I understand. It does use the regular PLAY interface.
2. Brass, woodwinds, string effects, and more orchestral percussion

@EWQLTutorials
2. Alright! Cheers for that :)
1. No it doesn't. What I mean is the DESIGN of the program. It doesn't have sort of V-shaped thing at the top like MOR/Gypsy/SILK/Ra does. And that's what I'm wondering, why it doesn't use that design so that it's consistent :)
Thanks for the replies!

@Tanax13 Oh, I see. Different instruments have different needs, first of all, so the interface components changed based in part on that. After that, it's simply a design choice.
