These videos are the culmination of our 4th grade class's year-long study of salmon as an indicator species of stream health. 4th graders went on a variety of field trips, interviewed experts, chose and focused a topic, determined a problem and a viable solution, conducted their own research, wrote scripts, designed story boards, created illustrations, filmed stop time animation segments in a light studio, and did the voice-over. The whole while, teams learned and utilized concepts of pro-social behavior by setting targets for cooperation and frequently evaluating their productivity as a group. Thank you to the many community partners who made this project possible (see credits).
Good ideas!

This is great! We live near the Kickapoo River in Wisconsin and our river is important to us.
