[More in-depth review below] I wanted to update. And I did. Oh, don't say I didn't warn you, because there are spoilers. Do I have to repeat?
THERE ARE SPOILERS LIKE WOAH.

As I said in the video, I wanted to update people with what I think of the new series, and where I felt it's headed. I'm not too happy with it, because it's a shotty version of the first series, but I'm also a bit excited to see new characters around. Although I'm not completely enthused about plot changes, it's still something new to think over.

If you're a returning fan, you might want to kick back and watch the available episodes without much thought- you've seen it before, you understand the settings. If you're not, and you're new to the franchise, then I suggest paying close attention. Lots of details that were drawn-out and worked over several episodes are now shoved into a single episodes at a time. Lots of things that the producers took time explaining in the last series is only touched upon so far.

Which brings me to the second part of why I'm so displeased with the series. Lots of things about Fullmetal needed time to develop, and with the way things are looking, it seems very rushed. In the process of speeding things up, they unique way the story unfolds in the first series of FMA is not found in the second.

Overall, I'm sure lots of people will still enjoy this series, but my heart lies with Fullmetal Alchemist. For now, I can breathe easy without Brotherhood.

By the way, who else besides me pre-ordered the Fullmetal OVA Movie, today? Goddamn, I can't wait until August.

  • Ive seen em both and what your saying about ''lacking character development in brotherhood'' isn't fair. To me Edward just remained Edward and same with Al seeing both 2003 & 2009. i like Brotherhood beter because the plot was constantly twisting more and more together with the amazing music. I liked them both tho but Brotherhood started to get real good from the first episode while the 2003 version started getting good at like episode 18 or some. But I just see em as a whole franchise together

  • @BloodyCrAzYzzz The plot changed more than the original because Brotherhood followed the manga. When the original was made the manga wasn't even finished. So of course it's going to be different and slightly less construed than Brotherhood would be.

Ugh, get your facts straight. Also, you really don't have an argument, because they used the same people they did for music as the original as well.

And I just disagree with about everything you're say, so. Yeah. But you're entitled to your opinion

  • Pleasepleaseplease do some damn research or even read the manga before u review! The first fma is the suckyer one! Even though it was amazing...

  • @bluelemoncoconut Sweetie.. This was predictions. I swear, nobody reads anything anymore. I know my predictions were wrong, calm your fucking tits.

Also, I disagree with you absolutely. The first series is in it's own league, FMA:B is something else entirely. The character development in the original series is second to none. There are lots of things in the first series that is lacking in FMA:B.

I just really can't agree with that.

  • @elliexomg there is no developement it´s just made up bullshit. the homunculi suck, especially Wrath as this annoying bitching and whiny kid. and they generaly fucked the whole homunculus story up -> Sloth, Pride, Greed.

Nobody reads anything anymore? That´s just plain retarded, sorry. There are many real fans that buy and read mangas.

    No differnce... serious?

Why apply to an audience that doesn´t even want to know the original? It´s us fans that made it popular.

  • @Streichwurstable Sweetie, of course it was improvised. The manga wasn't even finished by the time the anime was in production. Get your facts straight.

Aside from you attacking me for my personal opinion, Wrath was /supposed/ to be annoying. They were trying to showcase that the humoculi possessed human behaviors/emotions. If you knew anything about FMA, you would have gotten that.

    I don't understand your last comment, but if you're implying that I didn't like FMA:B you're mistaken.

  • @elliexomg That doesn´t mather, its still beter music :P.

  • @elliexomg ight my bad I shuldnt of went off on u but really whichever series one watched first is gonna be the one they support... we could go off for hours saying how much better one is than the other, and we could both come up with some good points.

  • @elliexomg It’s frustrating because depending on which reviews you read, FMA: Brotherhood is either a great, exciting series or just a terrible waste of time. I think it has been fine so far, but all the whining seems to be obscuring its true quality.

  • @elliexomg .The problem is that hardcore fans are often unwilling to compromise, and, in the case of FMA: Brotherhood, this really seems to be effecting the reception of the series, as if the fandom is literally expecting to watch a slideshow of the manga, and when it doesn’t materialise, they feel betrayed, despite the fact it was never going to be like that anyway.
