  • @Organphantomjd : I agree with you! It is hard to learn all these things when one is a young singer. To some it comes naturally and others have to learn it.

  • You are young. I have to agree with the need for various corrections and the need for much less head movement. Breath control work is needed obviously. Punching out notes doesn't help the performance at all. However, I had to learn all this too. You keep on singing !! Never stop learning! I had to learn all these things plus many other things, too. It's not easy! Listen and watch your performances and critique yourself too. Keep up the good work!

  • I enjoyed this very much... It is heartfelt. You have a beautiful and unique voice...Keep up the work...

  • Don't worry what these indulgent dolts have to say James, it's their loss if they can't see what a deep and emotional performance this is.

  • Verses are from "Easter" by George Herbert. Ralph Vaughan Williams composed this song using the second half of that poem. It is part of his "Five Mystical Songs" composition:

    1. "Easter" - from the first half of Easter;

    2. "I Got Me Flowers" - from the second half of Easter;

    3. "Love Bade Me Welcome" - from Love (III);

    4. "The Call" - from The Call;

    5. "Antiphon" - from Antiphon (I).

  • I find that for a collegiate singer, this performance is VERY unprofessional. Your starting emotion did not match the song. Being a tenor is not the blame for this sounding terrible. Relax your face, use your jaw more, do not close your consonants(3:05), also allow air to flow more as you start a phrase, as opposed to punching the sound out...also, when you accompanist screws up...do what she does for you...act like it never happened and keep going. In one section, bad diction. This needs WORK!!

  • You shouldn't bob your head around, you look like a cat with a laser pointer. And legato singing does not mean port to every note.

  • first off, youre a tenor..

  • flat....lifeless... Sorry, but someone's got to tell you...

  • Beautiful song...it's about Easter, specifically.
