Nic made this video for his grade 9 english class and has sent our whole family off on a Burroughs kick (Liz has taken to reciting Ah Pook). Nic's friend Carmel does a good job acting in this video (in her mom's wedding dress)

  • Nice video! I'm a little confused as to where the william Burroughs recording originally came from, can any help? thanks!

  • @Flasdingleray Thanks! Nic created the audio (with my help) using sampled audio from other YouTube videos and personal field recordings.

  • Is this Really Happening? I, C Cummings, accidentally stumbled upon this video during a religious, youtube Burroughs reverie. AH PHOOKK! THE DESTROYER!

  • Is this Christ Cumming the second? Porter Hall was already taken so I took Really Happening's name. Gogo the second is responsible for this fine video (a school project)

  • right?! it amazes me how few people realize that without him, we probably wouldn't have modern day 'music videos'; and yet still nobody seems to know who he is? in addition, the style and look of current 'cinema' owes him a huge debt. he used 'eisensteins montage' method with pop-music before anyone else and it has now become a style commonplace in modern film-and still, with all the influence mentioned above, he's practically an unknown in this country, even to those interested in film.

  • this is great! reminds me of a young kenneth anger!

  • this is bad ass for a 9th grade class :)

  • I prefer just reading Burroughs, 'cause listening to him talk makes me fall asleep. Old junkie smelling like smoke and farts, go to bed you wrinkled ol' bastard you.

  • He was Honest!

  • What an Obsequious sycophant!

I meet Burroughs an a number of occasions.

It's true he was a great artist, but he was also a nasty bitter old junkie!
