cuz americans want immediate gratification. they don't want to think & ponder over a movie. they want fast sex, fast love & fast, breezy characters who seem exciting. they prefer the bright shining objects of cheap material over the subtle luster of some thing of true value. we're a fast food society - & every thing else follows. & i think to a degree, americans are less educated. we just are. & the better of the 2 movies prob'ly wasn't promoted as aggressively as the cheaper american version.
@thejokerclarke Yeah if you read the book that's what it sort of insinuates. Plus there is all this well creepy stuff about pedophilia and eli really being a boy which is all verry disturbing. the book is still a good book though.
