  • One of my all time favourites.

  • "You can travel on 10,000 miles and still stay where you are..." Still makes me tear up

  • Thanks for posting.

  • God, what an incredible talent. No one else ever wrote story songs anywhere near the caliber of his works. THE most under appreciated and under rated singer/song-writer ever.

  • @ianmistben His wifes poetry many times ;) but the man gets the credit always :(

  • @chatman2a Oh how I completely agree with your sentiments. I was only chatting to the wife earlier today and saying that back in the 70's how much more the artists seemed to take pride in their work, how you could actually hear the lyrics that were being sung, there was no nasty edge to the great singer/songwriter of the period. I only ever watch and listen to the music that was around from that particular period as todays stuff is just, well, what you said it was.

  • I miss the days when songs like this, story songs with adult content, could get played on the radio coast to coast. We've lost something in this country...

  • @stacksovids12 The "music" of today? You mean the cacophony, dissonance, and clatter that masquerades as "music?" No matter what you call it, it's all crap... as in (c)rap music. Thank God I lived during the golden era of American popular music (1940s-1980s).

  • i never knew the song title and kept looking for "i am the morning DJ" but could never find it. Untill the Internet came along :)
