Wind storm in Bountiful, Utah on Dec. 1, 2011

We awoke at 2 a.m. on December 1, 2011 to pounding winds. It felt like a train was going through our house. All night our windows rattled as we could hear stuff from the neighborhood being thrown into our house. It was still dark when I went out at 5 to our back yard to clean up chairs, garbage and garbage cans, pieces of our barbecue grill and playground swings and equipment. I got hit in the head with a flying shingle. I noticed that our 2-car garage door was buckled in, resting against my truck. The wind bent the door in half. Our vinyl fence gate was blown open with the metal pieces all over and the vinyl fence posts broken into pieces.

As I drove around the neighborhood around 9:30 I noticed nearly half of the fences were are on the ground. There are shingles everywhere, like giant flecks of pepper on grass. We have no power. I've heard the media report our area is receiving 106 mph winds - hurricane force winds. I've been through a hurricane and tornado and this feels a lot like that, only this is much more prolonged.

The storm winds blew from 2 until nearly 11 a.m.

lucky people O.o no power for 3 days and school was cancled for 2. spent 2 days off and all the weekend cleaning up. O.o

hahah this was crazy.. i still remember waking up and seeing tha tree's like getting blown way over and my power kept flashing till at like 7 it went completely out apart from tha damage to places, it was kinda fun to have this happening

What a mess. And strange that in Tooele, where I live, only 40-50 miles away, there was zero wind that day.
