Kurt Cobain and his fellows talked for me in the early 90s and I really identified with them.
Anyway, having said this, I think there are exceptions. The day Hanna Montana becomes a legend, I hope I am dead... ;)

I think we can like or dislike certain music or legends, but we cannot deny them. There was something they had that at the time they appeared that stroke many people. Not necessarily with unbelievable music skills sometimes, some did it by not playing well or doing so with only two bass strings, but they marked generations. Dour and vastly overrated. Early period Simple Minds from '79 to 82 were far better, more varied, edgier and uplifting. Ditch your preconceptions.

there is a lot of good music out there now...you just have to look for it unfortunately. but who knows which people will be remembered as "legends."

firstly I dont appreciate kurt cobain that much I think he is overrated.Moreover I think that everyone can understand the difference between joy division and marilyn manson or hanna montana so it's no just a matter of preference....

I remember this as though it was yesterday. When you look and listen to them it could easily have been. These guys stepped out of time ...genius.

Ian Curtis, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain etc. They are Legends for us! For next generations will be Marilyn Manson or Lenny Kravitz or MF Hanna Montana LEGENDS maybe! Who knows! I think that judge today's music is mistake because it what bad for you, this mustn't be bad for the others! ( Forgive me for my bad English!:) but I think I writed all what I wanted write )
