Smoke switches are fun. Down in San Antone we call them tail gate switches. Haha but the only thing it really hurts is the charger. Vgt turbos are different than the vnt turbo in my 6 liter but it has the same affect. It opens the signal to the solenoid moving the vanes(vnt) or the nozzle ring and the geometry ring(vgt) out of boost. After a while the soot clogs it up and travel is limited. Makin lower boost when you want it. Just a little FYI since y'all are arguing over it.

@6spdISB That would be you...in no way does a smoke switch increase or decrease performance, in reality if this is a manual tranny the smoke switch is unnecessary. It is simply to roll coal.
