Ruckman on dispensations

Dr. Peter Ruckman draws a timeline to briefly explain dispensations or ages in which different scripture verses apply.
Some references and quotes I thought might be helpful for those studying this topic:

Dr. Peter Ruckman, Bible Believers' Bulletin Vol.32 No.12 December 2008:
"...a better way to teach 'dispensations' is by 'COVENANTS,' not time periods... the word 'dispensation' as Paul used it in Colossians 1:25 and Ephesians 3:2, was NEVER a reference to any time period."

Dr. Peter Ruckman, Bible Believer's Commentary on Exodus, page 789:
"'And there fell of the people that day about three thousand men' (vs. 28). By providential design we are given the same number in Acts, chapter 2, where the Holy Spirit inaugurates this present dispensation. The contrast is striking. Three thousand are slain at the giving of the Law (Roman. 7:10-11), whereas three thousand are quickened to new life (Eph. 2:1-5) at the giving of the Comforter."

Anti-dispensationalists assume that the word "gospel" always refers to the same one gospel, but...
One of Webster's 1828 dictonary definitions of "gospel" is "God's word". The etymological source of "gospel" is "God-spell", and when the word "gospel" is used in the Bible you'll often find "word of God" in the context (See 'The Language of the KJB' by Gail Riplinger, page 47-50). You've heard the definition of gospel is "good news" or "glad tidings", but more specifically, "gospel" literally means "something that GOD SPELLED-OUT" (which often happens to be "glad tidings"). With this in mind, it should be obvious that the many instances in the Bible where "gospel" is used in different phrases are not all necessarily refering to the same gospel.

"(the rapture) will occur in the next 10 to 20 years..." Hmm....saying something is going to happen within a certain time frame is a prophecy. Considering this video was recorded back in the 70's - possibly very early 80's (and I'm being generous), I'd say his prophecy was false. And everyone who has read the bible knows what it says about false prophets (Deu 18:20-22)

@morninghoneybee It was filmed in the late 80s or early 90s. Better read Deut 18 more closely. Ruckman never claimed to be a prophet and never claimed to be speaking "in the name of the LORD" when dating the rapture. A prophet is one who says "This is definitely exactly what's going to happen and I know it cuz God told me so exactly." Ruckman is obviously GUESSING here, as he wasn't specific. He is obviously giving his OPINION, not claiming to give a message from God.

How ridiculous to say "all heresy is truth in another dispensation".... Jesus is not the spirit brother of Jesus in ANY dispensation....Jesus is NOT a created being in ANY dispensation...Jesus is not a false prophet or liar in ANY dispensation

@RIghtlyDivided Obviously he knows that, and if asked to clarify, he'd say "MOST" heresy, not "all". He should have said "most". In fact I think I read in one of his commentaries where he did say "MOST heresies are truths misplaced in the wrong dispensation".

@calciumboy- Dispensationalism is a man made system imposed on the Bible and created by CI Scofield in the 1800's. I thought KJV only Baptists didn't follow men?

@Victornotvictim77 If I find anything in the Bible that proves dispensationlism wrong, I'll say so. You SHOULD follow men who know the Bible better than you do (1 Corinthians 11:1) - That's why we have teachers and pastors! (Ephesians 4:11, Acts 20:28)

@calciumboy It's hard to understand why a "man" would listen to this short message and then call it "more ridiculous ruckman blather". It's good basic info that most Christians don't know. The jest of all heresies is plain to anyone paying attention. He plainly was talking about "out of context" verses. Not

The tribulation period, Jacob's trouble: God's wrath directed at the fallen Israel in unbelief. She will eventually repent and admit that THEIR/HER righteousness, which she has chosen, won't save her, as in Deut. 6:25

Conail, check the references: Romans, Galatians and Hebrews MISQUOTE the verse from Habakkuk. God many times has required faith, but it is grace that is always present, not faith (it's not OUR faith in the first place!).
