i like how everyone thinks this is grunge. its just early sound of alternative rock. grunge is a highly over used word. real grunge bands are the melvins with there muddy sludgy sounds

@RoarytheGuit88 - it depends how far back you want to go. We could go back to Neil Young and Crazy Horse... even further back is the really proto-grungy surf rock. I don't think you can can pin the entire grunge movement on a few bands.

Hmm I disagree, dipshit. Dinosaur Jr, along with various other pioneering bands such as Sonic Youth and the Pixies started the grunge genre. Nirvana and the others followed, influenced by the earlier bands.

Dinosaur Jr. isn't a "grunge" band, dipshit. Dinosaur Jr. is the band that all of the shitty "grunge" bands like Nirvana wanted to be.
