Bill Medley - Lonely Avenue ( Ray Charles cover )

"Lonely Avenue" is a popular song written by Doc Pomus that became a rhythm and blues hit for Ray Charles in 1956. In 2007 Bill Medley released "Damn Near Righteous" album, and covered this monumental song from Ray Charles. This album honors Righteous Brothers' legacy and showcases the singular artistry of Bill Medley in his own right.

The song featured on TV show "Psych" in season 2 , episode "Black and Tan: A Crime of Fashion" ... and that's how I found about this cover :)

Although I think that Ray Charles' version is unbelievable, this version flavors it with unique positive values, and serves as a reminder that great music is still out there swimming in a dark misty sea of commercialism.
