  • @Scrapheap71 ... on asphalt. The thing with grass is that singles can perform a soft field takeoff, and so the takeoff roll can seem similar to what it uses up on asphalt. Conventional twins cant perform soft field takeoffs because they need to be in the air at VMC either way. Add to that their extra weight on wet, sticky grass, and even an aztec will take a few thousand feet to get off the ground.

  • @HDaviator Yeah, I guess you're right. Aztecs are known for fairly short take-offs and landings though.

    Everything is slower on grass, especially wet grass.
