@colinjamespugh yes that's right. that would be the following procedure. But it's interesting that you learn doing this on each other in the us army..

she hit a valve which makes it hard to advance the cannula, if the vid had of lasted longer you prob would have seen her flush with the cannula where it is and then try advance it - pushing a saline flush will help open the valve so you can advance the cannula

When I was teaching Combat Life Saving Classes, the soldiers did NOT use the AC site for their IV start site. Even though they were infantry types, the did a splendid job of with their starts and DID NOT use the AC areas. The AC is more uncomfortable for the patient and creates problems with the flow of the IV solution when the patient bends his arm. If the patient has clonic tonic seizures, the IV tends to get kinked or pulled out.

You have to advance the catheter completely into the vein!
It looks like it doesn't was already in

lol thats awesome, it was a mess but it gets the job done. Imagine doing it mid-gunfight or post gun fight.

what a mess......
@lenbot Yeah, I tried to keep enough pressure on the vein, but apparently I didn't get enough :P I can't imagine doing it while under pressure.
