Panama - New Black Eagles 1987
New Black Eagles 1987
This was a weekend when the New Black Eagle Jazz Band was celebrating their 15th anniversary. Our Climax Jazz Band was invited to Boston to help celebrate. On the evening before the Eagles played a concert and I had my new Sony video 8 camera and was able to film part of this concert. This video has been on the shelf for 20 years and I'm bringing you some clips from this outstanding New Orleans styled band.
The band had two special guests for this concert: clarinettist Butch Thompson and clarinettist and tenor player Brian Ogilvie.
In the band are leader Tony Pringle cornet, Stan Vincent trombone, Bob Pilsbury piano, Peter Bullis banjo, Eli Newberger tuba and Pam Pameijer drums.
To me this is the very best band of traditional New Orleans styled jazz in North America.

Fantastic band! If this isn't the best 2-beat jazz band ever I will kiss your ass 'til you bark like a fox!
