hehe quality vid, what I remember the feeling to be like when I first got on the Vic-20 and that was the neighbours one! This could easily have been a CBM advert of the day lol. Were any kids back then lucky enuff to get a C64, think they were pretty pricey back then..

Yep I remember getting a vic 20 for CHristmas sometime in the early 1980s. I spend a few days entering in the "Tank vs. UFO" game that was in the back of the book. That was a lot of typing but had fun with the game. Had lots of fun playing the games on cartridges and trading games with friends and copying them on the tapes. After a couple of years I heard about the Commodore 64 and always dreamed of upgrading to that but it never happened. I got a Nintendo instead in 1987 and it was fun.

Awesome! I got a Vic-20 for Christmas, I had pretty much the same reaction. I still have mine, btw. Yes, I'm a geek.

On Christmas day my brothers reaction, as a kid, was totally different from this.
He wanted a C64 and received a C16 instead! He was so disappointed he decied not to use it.
So it became mine :) It wasn't such a bad system after all.

You ought to send a betamax copy of this to Commodore by Delorean Mail!

Epic lol. I loved my VIC 20, wish i had never sold it along with my C64 but i just had to buy my 1st Amiga :D ... i still have 3 to this day ;p
my brother and I had many good times with the Vic; it was a vacation away from the mental abuse :(

@80sMetalForever The abuse here is clearly the domain of fashion. Thankfully my parents got better at dressing me funny with time.

Best present EVER!!!!!!!!!!
I was wondering though, did your parents actually force you guys to all get dressed (in striped shirts I might add) before you opened your presents? I remember being in pajamas at the crack of dawn while opening presents...I would have gladly dressed up if it meant getting a Vic for Christmas though!

No, that's just 1982 and a family with a total lack of fashion sense. It's 27 years later, but the latter problem hasn't been fixed. We're cursed.
