  • How on earth did you get such a magnificent sounding issue of this ancient recording? What was your source, please? How marvelous to hear the composer play his own music in such unadulterated sound!

  • @billyguns2 I think I was just lucky haha. I found this CD of digitally remastered Rachmaninoff recordings on the internet and just had to have it.

  • What a romantic piece! Such a lovely music dialogue of love and deep feelings it's totally awesome!

  • I agree - this is a very interesting movement. It has been described as bein similar to a Chopin Nocturne in style, but with a definite Rachmaninoff edge :)

  • He really has a fast style, but manages to play it so nicely

  • Thank you very much! I love this movement, this music makes me dream

  • RICH!!!

  • Hermosísimo :)

  • The 30 seconds from 4:50 to the end are one of my favorite moments in music. It's definitely an underrated piece, particularly this movement.

  • It strikes me that this movement proves once again that the most beautiful parts of Rachmaninoff's music can only be found by the attentive listener. 2:53 is a moment of pure bliss, although I strongly recommend to start listening from the beginning to hear the music build up to this subtle climax.

  • As well as the composers unique playing the Phiiladelphia strings have a radiance which is beautifully captured on this historic recording.

  • @KevinR3i Great comment, sent you a friend invite :-)
