This short film was written and performed by Year 2 pupils from Southwold Primary School in Hackney in June 2009, with support from their teacher, Darren Chetty.
Having learnt about Mary Seacole, the children decided to organise a fund-raising day for the Mary Seacole Memorial Statue Appeal.

Hola Clase Azul!
This is brilliant! By making this film you have created something important and powerful. You have added energy to a great movement. Your film will inspire many (e.g. Clase Plateada) to raise money to ensure that Mary Seacole and her work are remembered for ever.
Mary Seacole was a pioneer. I think she would be proud of the way you have followed her example.
Keep up the wonderful work!
