There is only three versions that I like the most about that song. First, the version of Perry Como who is the original, secondly, I like dean martin's version and finally not the least and best version of them all the john gary's version. Why the best version??? because to a simple love song he can give such emotion and such meaning to the words of the song. Actually, you can feel something rather than nothing and that make him a real great romantic singer like other crooners for example Johnny Mathis, Eddie Fisher, Jerry Vale, Tony Bennett, e.t.c

  • Steve Lawrence wished he sounded like JG on his best day.

  • This is a most beautiful rendition of this great song. A great addition to my "favourites". 5* post.

  • Nicely done! As a teenager, I remember the librarians in my small town putting his lps at the forefront of the new stacks so people would check them out. Had the exact opposite effect, of course, but now I'm checking him out(thirty years later) - thanks for posting!

  • I would say that John Gary,s voice, was the best of any male singer,I have ever heard..

  • His family has a wonderful website in his honor. Check it out at johngary.com

  • Great voice. Sounds very much like Steve Lawrence, in parts

  • @Michaelbos I came to appreciate JG only after I turned 20 (30 years ago). But have loved him since. A terrific singer:) -

  • This love song evokes feelings, emotions and the meaning of the words touch the soul.

John Gyry is a great romantic singer

I am pleased and thank you for sharing.

  • John Gary had a great and powerful voice. When he sings a song when a big voice as needed, John never failed. He is one of those unrated voices of the great era, but has a large fan base that remembers. Thanks for posting and sharing.

  • I saw JOHN sing this song on Joey Bishop"s Late Night Shoe (with Regis Philbin) and it sounded even better live--if that's possible. John Gary was sheer perfection!!
