@Shufflemonk69 That's the problem with jazz, people argue over the definition of it's meaning. Because it contains the element of group improvisation, it leads to people thinking the afore performance is actually jazz, and not noise. Jazz has form to it, it has styles from different periods albeit shorter in length than some of the classical periods. I like Wynton's view of jazz, but that also shot his new movement in the foot because the old masters did it so much better than today.
Seriously, how could there be so many likes? You could buy a bunch of HS kids a bunch of vodka, and tell them to mimic what they heard here, and they might do a "better" job of it.
@Shufflemonk69 The critics dogged Miles too. In fact this is Miles in 1982 and High Voltage was 1987. Miles paved the way for a record like High Voltage. By 1982 Miles had been doing completely electric for a decade and had been sluffing off critical attacks for even longer. Seems like a lot of slagging of Miles 80's period here. Truth is, no electric Miles and no Maynard Ferguson High Voltage,
if you compare miles electric stuff and maynards high voltage ,,what i cant believe is that they dogged maynards thing,,1000 times better ,this must be the stuff you play when you cant play anything else ,but its jazz ,,play anything
@AleGorymusic Totally. And like you said, it's a shame because it's not like those guys couldn't play their instruments, it's what they were playing that just makes you question whether their minds were right, watched it again, and it's just so disjointed and chaotic.
@TheAngeltoDemon agree 100% The audience was like "wtf just happened? Our ears just got raped by Miles Davis! Ain't that a bitch!!!!" It almost sounds like a St. Sanders "shred" video. As much as I respect all the amazing musicians I dislike the "jamming over one chord" Miles.
Miles was over. I'm not impressed with this....regretful.

@MrVelsan77 I agree, Miles has contributed so much. It is his later period like this video that was tough to listen to in my opinion.
