Installing a new outlet is a little different than replacing a existing outlet. The wiring is the same but you have the added tasks of installing a outlet box , stripping wires and running the wire to the next box or back to the power panel. This video teaches you how to add a new outlet box and wire a new outlet.

  • It depends on your wire gauge and circuit breaker.

multiply the volts by the amps and then use the 80% rule.

for 15 amp circuit take the volts times the amps 120 x 15 = 1800 then multiply it by 80% = 1400 watts capacity

for 20 amp circuit take the volts times the amps 120 x 20 = 2400 then multiply it by 80% = 1920 watts capacity

Thanks for such a great question.
